Let's roll in TWO-0-0-0!

The Kazoo Blues Boys Basketball teams rolled into the new millennium with eight teams who played in five age divisons during the Michigan AAU state tournament. All teams made the Sweet 16 round and one was a state champion and qualified for a national tournament berth. Congradulations to all the players and coaches for a job well done.

 

KAZOO BLUES BOYS 17U/JUNIORS WIN MICHIGAN AAU STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. :
The Kazoo Blues marched through the Michigan AAU 17U/Juniors Boys Basketball state tournament with a perfect 7 - 0 record to win the championship. The stage for this year's title run was set last year when this group won the National Classic Tournament at the AAU 16U/10th Grade National Championship that was held in Detroit. This tournament championship launches the Blues toward the AAU National Junior tournament which will be held July 24 - 30 in Orlando, FL.

Tournament Results: Pool Play - Kazoo Blues 81 West Michigan Warriors 56; Kazoo Blues 86 Tri County Cobras 73 and Kazoo Blues 99 Sault Area Basketball 66.

Sweet 16 - Kazoo Blues 78 Western Lakes Metro 69.

Elite 8 - Kazoo Blues 113 Run and Gun All Stars 81.

Final Four: Semifinal - Kazoo Blues 73 Team Michigan 71. Finals - Kazoo Blues 80 Team Detroit 76.
